The Division of Lanao del Sur 1, in collaboration with the National Federation of Madaris and Maahid of the Philippines, recently organized and conducted the 2023 Quran Reading Competition last December 14, 2023 at the Division Learning Research Center, Bo. saber, Marawi City.
This competition was aligned with the Project Everest of the Division of Lanao del Sur 1 through the MUMTAZ Program of the Division Madaris Office. It sought to promote literacy in the Holy Qurโan and encourage its recitation, memorization and deep understanding of its meaning. Participants were ISAL Teachers from different Municipalities of LDS-1 Division.
The successful execution of the competition would not have been possible without the steadfast support, initiative and dedication of our Schools Division Superintendent Ma’am Sahanee M. Sumagayan, Ph.D, who has been a driving force for Madaris Education.
Special appreciation and recognition to the Division Officials, Division Facilitators who have graced and supported the said event.
Heartfelt gratitude is also extended, to the Division Madaris office headed by Aleema Amanie M. Amanoddin, Division Madaris Head/Supervisor and the newly designated Municipal ISAL Focal persons for their untiring support and efforts that greatly contributed to the competition’s success.

The winners(1st Placers) both male and female category will represent the Division of Lanao del Sur 1 in the upcoming Provincial-wide Quran Reading Competition, showcasing their skills and knowledge on a larger platform as they compete with representatives across the province.
The Division of Lanao del Sur 1’s commitment to promoting literacy in the Quran and fostering a deep understanding of its significance is evident through the successful execution of the 2023 Division Quran Reading Competition. The continued collaboration and support from key individuals and organizations such as the National Federation of Madaris and Maahid of the Philippines have been instrumental in furthering this important initiative.
